As the Center of Excellence Lead, you will be accountable for developing engineering skills of the .NET developers (headcount: 100+), implementing and adhering to engineering standards and best practices in software development that ensure high quality of created products and services. You will initiate and develop engineering teams while taking into account the level of engineering expertise, budget, and project development timelines. You will set and achieve ambitious goals for the entire Center of Excellence, and assist your engineers in formulating personal development goals that align with the overall goals of the Center of Excellence and the company.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field;
  • Extensive experience in software development, with a strong background in .NET programming
  • Proven expertise in Cloud Native development, specifically with AWS
  • Experience with Serverless and CDK will be a plus
  • At least 2 years of experience working as an Engineering Manager or similar role
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a big and diverse team of technical professionals

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning and goals setting: aligning Center of Excellence strategy with general company and department strategy; setting clear goals and tracking progress to achieve those goals
  • Processes & Engineering management: defining and tuning company-wide engineering practices and processes, standards and best practices; building engineering community, encouraging knowledge sharing and mentoring within .NET Center of Excellence; verifying high quality of engineering processes and standards within development teams
  • Expertise management: building and maintaining Skills Matrix; collaborating closely with Digital Academy to create training programs for engineers’ skills development; organizing internal skills assessment and support building development plans for .NET developers
  • Resource management: being accountable for engineers allocation to project teams, providing replacement for engineers upon request, collaborating closely with Resource Management Office
  • People management: holding regular 1-on-1 meetings, collecting & delivering feedback, taking part in recruitment process, onboarding and offboarding of .NET engineers
